Itinerary

  • Distance: ~210 km
  • Travel Time: 8–9 hours
  • Route: Dehradun → Rishikesh → Devprayag → Rudraprayag → Ukhimath → Chopta
  • Activities:
    • Scenic drive along Alaknanda & Mandakini rivers
    • Stop at Devprayag (confluence of Bhagirathi & Alaknanda)
    • Reach Chopta by late evening, relax at meadows

Overnight: Campsite or guesthouse in Chopta

  • Trek Distance: 5 km (to Tungnath) + 1.5 km (to Chandrashila)
  • Trek Duration: 5–6 hours round trip
  • Activities:
    • Early morning trek to Tungnath Temple (highest Shiva temple)
    • Continue to Chandrashila Peak for 270° panoramic views of Nanda Devi, Kedarnath, Trishul, and Chaukhamba
    • Return to Chopta for lunch/rest

Overnight: Chopta

  • Distance: ~140 km
  • Travel Time: 6–7 hours
  • Route: Chopta → Gopeshwar → Joshimath → Auli
  • Activities:
    • Scenic drive via Gopeshwar (lush greenery and views of the valley)
    • Asia’s longest cable car from Joshimath to Auli

  • Travel Time: 9–10 hours
  • Route: Auli → Joshimath → Rudraprayag → Srinagar → Rishikesh → Dehradun
